Uses Cowgirl Candy
Toast it dark, butter it while it is hot so the butter goes in, then jelly on top of that. Cut it corner to corner. Coffee is not optional.
Uses Muscadine Jelly
Season a loin and roast it most of the way. Warm half a jar with a splash of vinegar, brush it on, back in the oven until it catches. Slice thin and spoon the pan over it.
Uses Lemon Drop Pepper Jelly
Split a hot biscuit, butter both halves, mayhaw jelly on one side and close it. Eat standing over the sink like everybody else.
Uses Mayhaw Jelly
Two pods in the glass, a spoonful of the brine in the drink. The spicy jars earn their keep here.
Uses Pickled Okra
Beans and rice in the bowl, a heavy spoon of chow chow right in the middle. Cornbread on the side to push it around with.
