Questions we get asked

The short answers.

If it is not here, call us on 337-806-4702 — we would rather talk to you anyway.

Where can I buy Josey's Goods?
Catch us Saturday mornings at the Lafayette Farmers & Artisans Market at Moncus Park, 8am to 12pm. You can also pick up on Sundays in Lafayette, or at the kitchen in Duson Monday through Friday by appointment. The where to find us page has every address, and the calendar lists the festivals we are pulling a stand at this year.
Can I buy directly from the kitchen?
Yes. We are at 203 Moise Lane, Duson, LA 70529, Monday through Friday by appointment. Call ahead on 337-806-4702 and we will have it ready — cases can be ready the same day.
Do you sell party favors for weddings, showers, and special events?
We do. Small jars make good favors, and we put custom labels on them for the occasion. Gift baskets are available on request as well. Send us a note with how many jars, which flavors, and the date you need them by.
Which jars are seasonal?
All of them. Availability depends on the bounty of the harvest from our local farmers. Mayhaw jelly runs in the spring, when the berries come in for a few weeks. Muscadine jelly is a fall jar, made while the arbor is loaded. Hibiscus jelly we cook for the Sunset Herb Festival in the spring. Anything marked not in stock on the shelf comes back around when its crop does.
How hot is the pepper jelly?
Our pepper jelly ranges from mild, medium, spicy, and extreme.
What sizes do the jars come in?
Jams and jellies, including the pepper jellies, come in 4 oz and 8 oz. Pickles come in 12 oz. Chow chow, pickled garlic, candied jalapeno and cowgirl candy are 8 oz, and the hot sauces are a 5 oz bottle. Each jar's page lists exactly what it comes in.
Will you come to our festival or church fair?
We travel and pull a full stand. Send us the date and we will tell you what will be ripe by then. Ask about a date and we will get back to you.
What does "Certified Louisiana" mean?
It means the product is made here. Everything we sell is cooked by hand in our kitchen in Duson, eighteen jars at a time, with Louisiana fruit, peppers and produce from farmers close to home.
